Studio Arabiya Institute offers various workshops and classes throughout the year, when available. Some classes and workshops include:

Calligraphy Course

Our course is suitable for anyone interested in art and design, wishing to improve their Arabic writing skills.

In this course we will study the practice of handwriting that is based on the Arabic alphabet. Arabic calligraphy has always been an esteemed art form in Islamic civilization, appreciated by many artists as well. Adorning the walls of mosques and centers of learning throughout the Muslim world historically, as well as gracing the covers of books, glassware and even bowls and plates with verses from the Quran prophetic traditions, and lines of poetry, Arabic calligraphy is without a doubt, a beautiful form of art. By some, it can be interpreted as a simple subject. But the truth is that not many people can say they know how to write or read the different scripts of the Arabic language.

Egyptian Arabic

With an estimated 422 million speakers, Arabic is the fifth most spoken language in the world. However, some of those 422 million people may have a hard time understanding each other. This is because Arabic is, in many ways, an umbrella term.

There are a number of strains of Arabic spoken across the globe. In order to keep track of them all, Arabic is generally broken down into three forms. These are Classical Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and Colloquial Arabic. Egyptian Arabic falls under the Colloquial Arabic banner. It can be a challenge to learn. That being said, it is certainly a rewarding pursuit. Many Arabic students delight in learning Colloquial variations of the language as it allows them to pick up unique slang and turns of phase not present in Modern Standard Arabic.

Plus, the more forms of Colloquial Arabic you know, the greater your travel opportunities are. Arabs are generally very impressed by outsiders who are proficient in their native language. Master a few phrases of a region’s Arabic before traveling there and the locals will welcome you with open arms.

Children’s Arabic

If you want your child to learn the Arabic language so he can study the Quran, or if you just want them to be in touch with their Arabic roots, we have the solution for you. In the course, we created lesson especially for children.

Our goals are that they gain language proficiency in the Arabic language. We will work with your children towards learning Arabic grammar, comprehending, reading, writing, and speaking proper Arabic. And depending on the goals you have and the ones we set together, by the end of our Arabic language course, we should expect that your kid will know the Arabic alphabet, will be able to read, write and speak in Arabic with confidence.
